google docsGoogle docs is a great way to create, edit, and share documents. Google Documents live online from start to finish and automatically save as you are working so there is not need to worry about clicking the save button every 5 minutes as you work. Docs are a great way to collaborate on a project with peers because anyone with a gmail account can be invited to view, comment on, or edit a document. This removes the need to email a document to collaborators and have them download a version of it on their computer to edit then send it back to your in an email which leaves you with another version of the document to keep track of. All changes made to a Google document are reflected immediately and users all work inside of the same document. Docs is also a great way to share documents with users who may not have a specific program needed to access a file. Since it is a web document, a Google Doc can be opened from anywhere a user has access to a web browser. That means cell phones too.
